Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***
3.5 Stars
I honestly liked the first book better. I feel that there was more action in this book then the first though. I think adding parts of the court proceedings into the book was genius. I wish there was more Kady/AIDEN love-action going on. I have more of a preference to the characters in the first book then in this one. I like how the book took place on Heimdall and confirmed Kady suspicions about someone from Beitech infiltrating the space station, to prevent further assistance to the Kerenza Colony and the Hypatia/Alexander fleet. It made the story more well-rounded and filled in holes for us while adding on to the story. The plot twist at the end had me all fucked up (multi-universes...).

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

4 Stars...
I think this book is very well written. Parts of it reminded me of the show Dark Matter which is probably why I enjoyed it so much (mostly about how the AI doesn't act like normal AI's). The way story is told is in a very unique way which I think added to the enjoyment of the book. The Series is called The Illuminae Files and how the authors wrote the book was in actual file format keeping to the series title. The characters and the plot were well written. I thought the ending was decent overall, but I was really hoping for Ezra to be dead at the end. I really wanted Kady to fall in love with their AI, AIDEN. Throughout the book it seemed like AIDEN was falling in love with Kady and I really wanted to see them try to make a love between a human and an AI work. That's the only thing that disappointed me. Otherwise I loved the book. #Kaiden all the way.

Light Filters In Poems by Caroline Kaufman

3 STARS
I didn't care that some of the poems were repetitive but said differently because I feel my poems are repetitive too. The thee repetitive. It is just that only a few of the poems stood out to me and enjoyed them. I am proud of the author getting her story out their. She is brave. I respect the author.

The Inquisition by Taran Matharu

***CONTAINS SPOILER***
This book was pretty good. I think I preferred the first book because it was more action-packed.  However, I did find the court trial process interesting. I like how Acturus through holes in Didric's whole story and completely discredited him. I thought that Inquisitor Rook was a good villain. The way he surprised Acturus and Fletcher with another trial immediately after Fletcher was about to regain his freedom surprised me. At the end of the second trial it was a slight surprised me to find out that Fletcher was born a noble of the Raleigh family. I thought his heritage was going in a completely different direction. Even though everyone thought he was the bastard son of Lord Faversham, I thought he was going to be the bastard son of Lady Faversham, in all honesty. Boy was I wrong. I'm glad I was though. I think the best part about his book was that I didn't have to reread the first book to remember what all happened either that or the ending. I can't believe that the prisoner was actually Lady Raleigh, Fletcher's mom. Rufus was so sure that was his mom. It made me really happy for Fletcher. That was the biggest shock. I remembered thinking in the first book, "What the hell, happened to Jefferey? Fletcher and him seemed like they got along so well and would be such good friends." Then he came into the second book and it was a little shocking. He only showed up once in the first book and now he is kind of a main character... To find out it was all because he hated the dwarves and the elves and was trying to start a Civil War. Damn. That was the second biggest shock. Fletcher's trues heritage had to of been the third biggest shock. All and all, I can't wait to tread the third book. To find out what happens to Fletcher and his mom. As well as, what is with that prophecy they told...

The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

I only read this because I loved the movies so much. I thought that the book itself dragged on. It wasn't terrible, but I had to read over some parts more than once. I was told that there was a good chance that I would hate it because of the fact that it's mostly walking, but I'm glad I finished it. I enjoyed the ending though. My favorite part is when Gollum and Bilbo have a riddle-off. I just like Gollum as a character because of his selfishness and the way he talks. "How did we lose it, my precious?"

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

***CONTAINS SPOILER***
I immediately fell in love with Cath. I could easily put myself in her shoes. The overall story was good. It kept me guessing on what was going to happen. I thought she was going to end up with Nick, but she ended up with Levi. That came to me as a shock. I didn't even suspect that Nick was just using Cath for her writing. I loved that she included excerpts of the fanfiction that Cath and Cath and Wren wrote as well as excepts of the Simon Snow books. I thought Wren was really selfish and mean as a character. Especially toward her sister. I didn't like how she would make fun of Cath for writing fanfiction and then come to find out she kept up with all the fanfiction she wrote and looked forward to it. Now Reagan is a great roommate to Cath. Supporting her, when they saw Levi making out with some random girl. As well as not allowing Levi into their room even though they are best friends because Cath asked for it.

Legendary by Stephanie Garber

This book was just as amazing as the first. I really felt like the author brought me into the game with each book. This book was different from the last one and I liked it. But it had similar qualities. I like how the author changed the main character from Scarlett to he sister Tella. The author kept me on my toes as well. I was able to guess parts of the book but other parts i was wrong about. The ending was an overall shock. But it was extraordinarily well-written and different. It made me like it even more. These books bring you into a different world. One of magic and deception. You get brought into the world of Caraval... But its only just a game.
